Project SmartMOB (ELSAT 2020)

2015 - 2022

Smart Mobility

The ELSAT2020 project is co-financed by the European Union with the European Regional Development Fund, the French state and the Hauts de France Region Council.

Purpose

The purpose of the SmartMOB (Smart Mobility) project is to provide a mobility assistant/wizard able to give in real time to a driver different routes including various modes of transport (car, tram, bus, train, autonomous shuttles, etc.) in order to encourage him/her to change his/her mode of transport. Using this assistant, a driver will be able to see the cost (time, money or greenhouse gas emissions) of the different routes proposed on his/her smartphone before he encounters a traffic jam. The first purpose is clearly to encourage him/her to park his/her vehicle and to use public transport with a win-win operation.

LGI2A contributions

In this project, two main contributions are expected from the LGI2A.
- First, develop a numerical simulation platform dedicated to multimodal transport (pedestrian, bicycle, road, rail). The role of this platform will be to test different mobility scenarios, different incentive strategies for drivers to change their modes of transport.
- Second, propose methods allowing one to efficiently explore all the possible solutions of a numerical simulation.
